Broken Blade

This mecha manga is about a war between the people of the Commonwealth of Athens and the Kingdom of Krisna. Both kingdoms use Golems, giant mechanical soldiers, to fight in the war.The Golems can only be used by people can use use magic,which is practically everyone except for a few who others call un-sorcerers.This is where our hero, Rygart comes in. He was born a un-sorcerer and lived in a farm with his dad and younger brother.

After, his father's death he decides to pay his old friends a visit who just happen to be the king and queen of the kingdom of Krisna. They all used to go the same school together when they were younger and that's how Hodr the king met Sigyn the queen.As the story went on I thought that their had to be some kind of love relationship that had to went on between Rygart and Sigyn because of how they acted towards each other.I was right but they never got together they just stayed friends.

Anyway, when Rygart goes to visit them, they discover an ancient golem that was made by their ancestors.But, none of the sorcerers can use it for some reason.They really want to use it in the war because it was made by their ancestors and shows that its equipment is way more advanced then their golems.During, an ambush Rygart ends up inside the golem and is able to control it and use it combat. They ask him to fight in the war with them but refuses because he doesn't like violence but they,eventually, convince him and the story begins.

This was a very short but exciting anime.What I liked most about it was seeing Rygart come out of shell and everyone watching him in shock at controlling the ancient golem and seeing how good a fighter he is.I also liked how even though times have changed since everyone been together they will always be the best of friends. One of my favorite moments was the ending when Rygart's younger brother comes out of nowhere and sees Rygart fighting against all odds.
